Future of stem cell research threatened claim experts in the field

An article highlights claims made by leading experts in the field that the future of stem cell research is threatened has been published this week, pointing to unethical clinics and unrealistic hopes as being part of the problem.

A special Lancet commission made up of leading experts has reviewed the progress and they say that for stem cell research to move from small-scale experimental treatments into mainstream medicine, “substantial rethinking of the social contract that supports such research and clinical practice in the public arena will be required”.
